Welcome to the UnConference-Wiki of berlin in october - eDemocracy summit 2009
Back in August 2007builders of some of Europes biggest eDemocracy and eParticipations websites got together for the first time. What they had in common was not a funding source, or a named programme, but a spontanious desire to use the Internet to empower citizens and hold governments and politicians accountable. In July 2008 there was a follow up - Berlin in July 2008 . Tom Steinberg, mySociety.org, Politik Digital, politik-digital.de and Christian Heise, e-politik.de / e-demokratie.org Now it is 2009 and the community of projects around the world is growing at a startling pace. We are therefore extremely excited to be holding our third event for builders of websites that empower citizens - Berlin In October 15th-16th October 2009. This event is invite only, but we are still looking for suggestions of smart, interesting people to invite. Please add questions you'd like to see discussed in our Open Questions section. The only real criteria for attendees: the desire and the determination to get things built that actually help citizens, rather than just talking about how great it could be if someone else did it :) Stay in touch with the summit participants:
